Below is the original
headlight assembly as normal
here is a photo with the headlight removed.
This is the whole bracket assembly, once it
had been removed.
Here is the motor, removed from the
bracket.
Carefully removing the gear cover (while
trying not to rip the gasket) this is the bottom of the gear assembly.
Below is what fell out of the motor once the gear
was lifted.
That crumbled up plastic is what was left of the factory nylon bushings.
To better illustrate what is going on, I drew (in
red) where the nylon bushings insert into the gear assembly.
There are three bushings that maintain motion between the actual gear
and the shaft assembly.
When these bushings deteriorate, the headlight ceases to raise.
